Between 10 July and 31 October 1940, fewer than 3,000 men of the RAF defended these shores from invasion by defeating the

Luftwaffe. They became known as ‘the Few’ and are remembered

at the Battle of Britain Memorial at Capel-le-Ferne in Kent. The

Memorial’s twin aims of remembrance and education depend on the generosity of its supporters.
