A little light reading

Malcolm

The guest of honour at our private Memorial Day ceremony left with a little light reading after Trust Chairman Richard Hunting CBE presented her with the ultimate guide to the men she had come to Capel-le-Ferne to honour.

Air Vice-Marshal Tam Jennings, Director of Legal Services for the RAF, was at the Memorial to represent the Chief of the Air Staff at the small ceremony, held to allow relatives of the Few to pay their respects to their loved ones.

The Chairman took the opportunity to present the Air Vice-Marshal with a copy of the third edition of Men of the Battle of Britain, written by Kenneth G Wynn and now published by the Trust in association with Frontline Books.

He also handed over a copy of the recently published supplement to the main volume. Together the works give an up-to-date account of the service details – and more – of the aircrew known to have taken part in the Battle of Britain.

Known as the ‘Bible’ amongst serious researchers and those with an interest in the history of the most important battle fought by this country in the 20th century, Men of the Battle of Britain, now accompanied by the updated supplement, is a must for all enthusiasts.
