Ambassadors tour the Memorial

Updated: Aug 15, 2023

The 'great and the good' were invited to tour the Memorial in the hope that they will help spread the word about this remarkable tribute to the airmen who won the Battle of Britain.

Trust Secretary Patrick Tootal invited fellow members of the Kent Ambassadors to learn more about the clifftop tribute to the Few. He was joined in showing the group around the Memorial by site manager Jules Gomez, who explained the significance of its various features.

The Kent Ambassadors are described on their own website as "a grouping of highly successful and experienced people who either live or work in Kent and who have come together, by invitation, in a voluntary arrangement to help all aspects of life in Kent".

Trustee and photographer Barry Duffield, himself a Deputy Lieutenant of Kent, was on hand to record the visit.
