Live art event raises amazing sum

Malcolm

An exciting new fund-raising event supported by Folkestone artist Shane Record raised a magnificent £1,100 for the charity’s funds on Thursday evening (8 Dec).

Shane painted a superb view of the cliffs beyond the Memorial, looking towards the harbour at Folkestone, while being live-streamed on Facebook and watched by an audience in the Geoffrey Page Centre in The Wing.

The finished work was then auctioned, both in the room and on line, with the winning bid of £1,100 made by Martin Bridges from the Capel-le-Ferne based Independent Insurance Company.

Honorary treasurer of the Trust Sam Pilcher, who arranged the event and acted as auctioneer, praised the “incredible generosity” of Shane and all those who supported the event and bid on the painting.
