A tribute evening to the most famous songstress of the second world war has been planned to help raise funds for the Memorial.
A unique evening of songs and stories about Dame Vera Lynn will be made extra special by a singalong and a buffet supper at the event on Tuesday 16 April.
The evening will begin at 7.30pm with a fascinating talk on Dame Vera by Susan Fleet MBE, long time friend and personal assistant of the 'Forces Sweetheart'.
She will entertain the audience with her memories of the inimitable Dame Vera, who won the hearts of the Armed Forces and the public with hits including We'll Meet Again and The White Cliffs of Dover.
After a buffet supper, New Zealander Vicki Lee, another friend of Dame Vera, will present highlights from her Vera Lynn Show, performing some of her songs and telling more anecdotes. She will then lead the audience on a rousing singalong of well-known songs.
Tickets for the evening, which takes place in the Geoffrey Page Centre at The Wing, the Battle of Britain Memorial Trust's visitor centre at Capel-le-Ferne, cost just £50, with all the proceeds going to the charity's 30th anniversary appeal The Next Sortie.
Numbers are limited, so booking is essential. Telephone 01732 870809 or email battleofbritain@btinternet.com to book yours.

The best part of Drive Mad is the pure joy of experimentation. The game never forces a single solution, letting me find my own way through each level. Sometimes the craziest ideas actually work, making every level a fun and creative challenge.
Oh my god! How did it escape?! Every time I play trap the cat I can't win a single game.
Basket Random is really awesome! The gameplay is super fun and the surprises in each match make each match unique and exciting!
